Oscar Mozur MOZUR, BUD Feb. 19, 1924 - July 29, 2010 Beloved husband for 53 years of the late Rayle Palca Mozur, Bud passed away peacefully on July 29, at age 86. Bud is survived by his children, Nancy Mozur, Lissa and Stuart Zanville and his grand-daughters Sara and Katy Zanville. Born in the Bronx, New York, on Feb. 19, 1924, to Morris and Eva Mozur, Bud served in the Army/Air Force, playing shortstop for their baseball team during World War II. His love for sports continued throughout the years, as a deeply committed San Francisco Giants and L.A. Lakers fan. In 1942 Bud met Rayle Palca, a UCLA freshman, on a blind date that proved there is such thing as “love at first sight.” He proposed on their second date. . Bud believed you “worked to live” not “lived for work” and fulfilled a lifelong dream of retiring at 50, after 26 years at Billy The Kid / Hortex . Bud lived life creatively, with a continued interest in art, music and politics. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed, but always remembered. Bud loved tutoring and mentoring children, and for the last 20 years he volunteered at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bud Mozur to the TUTORING PROGRAM of Maple Counseling Center of Beverly Hills, 9107 Wilshire Blvd Ste LL, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Services will be held on Sunday, August 1, 12 noon at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
